Welcome to Knox!
We are pleased you're considering a visit to our worship service. We gather in a historic building that was completely restored about 5 years ago. That doesn't mean we are "old school" though because Knox is determined to present the Good News in a manner that's accessible to all people reflecting the wonderful diversity of our town.
- Our services are typically just over an hour with communion, a celebration of the Lord's Supper once per month on the first Sunday. We are not tied to the lectionary but celebrate Advent (time before Christmas) and Lent (time before Easter) as the traditional high Christian seasons.
- Children are a focus of ministry at Knox. We provide a nursery through public school age Sunday School program that assists in their faith development. Typically infants are dropped off at the beginning of worship while others join their families for the first ten minutes then leave for their age appropriate programs.
- The service atmosphere is mixed casual (younger families), better dressed (our mature members), however, they mingle well creating a warm welcoming atmosphere. The worship style is Presbyterian in structure but relaxed with music embracing a wide variety of styles and sources.
- Following worship we have a time of fellowship and refreshments in our upper hall where we greet each other and share coffee, tea, juice (the odd treat) and time catching up.
